About Our Speaker:
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment of F. Brian Alvarez to a judgeship in the Fresno County Superior Court. Alvarez, 42, of Fresno, has worked for the California Attorney General's office where he has served as a supervising deputy attorney general since 2008 and previously served as a deputy attorney general from 2002 to 2008. Prior to that, he was a deputy district attorney for the Fresno County District Attorney's Office from 1995 to 2002. Alvarez earned a Juris Doctorate degree from San Joaquin College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fresno. He fills the vacancy created by the conversion of a commissioner position on September 23, 2008. Alvarez is a Republican. [Press Release GAAS:299:09 6/11/2009]
