I
am in my second year of the Paralegal program and I’ve already seen many changes
in my life. I have moved, I find myself metamorphosing into a step-parent of a
13 year old and I am lucky enough to be interning for a sole-practitioner
attorney for whom I do research, correspondence and billing out of my home. It
is hectic but ultimately very rewarding. I can’t wait to see what the next year
will bring!
After
losing someone very dear to me to cancer, I realized that life was too short to
continue putting off my dream of pursuing a career in the legal field. Shortly
thereafter, I enrolled in the FCC Paralegal Program. I am now beginning my final
year at FCC, and will be graduating in the spring with my A.S. in Paralegal
Studies. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Paralegal Program and
have gained such a wealth of knowledge from each of my teachers. I am truly
honored to serve as the Vice-President of SPA and look forward to what lies
ahead for all of us.
Behind
every face is a story dying to be revealed or simply remains to be hidden. My
story? It consists of many spontaneous chapters along with blank pages waiting
to be filled. In my book, I take on many roles that never cease to amaze me. As
a mother, I am a nurturer molding a life into its perfected form. As a student,
I am eager to learn and motivated to take that knowledge to as far as I can go.
As your secretary for SPA, I am determined to make sure that your time and
effort at the paralegal program does not go to waste. Time is my only
limitation, so what are you waiting for?
Cassandra Anderson - Treasurer
I am in my second year of the Paralegal Program. I am a single mother
and have two sons, ages 2 and 3. I also have guardianship of my two nephews,
ages 4 and 7. I got my first taste of the legal field through custody issues and
Probate court in relation to my children. It was then I realized how interested
I am in the legal field. So far it seems I am pretty good at it too. I love
learning new things and helping others learn, so if you have any questions
please feel free to ask.

As
a small business owner and entrepreneur I enjoy learning about other careers. I
am in my second year of the paralegal program and super excited to embark on a
new career. Being part of the program has allowed me to network with interesting
people who share with me similar goals. I currently intern for a
sole-practitioner who deals with immigration and civil litigation. I am thrilled
to be part of his team and have accomplished this goal by having a great program
to back up my skills and education. I can't wait to continue building on
my education with law school!
